What Are Wunzzles?

Wunzzles are rebus-style word puzzles where the visual arrangement of text hints at a common phrase. The position, size, direction, or repetition of words creates a visual clue. For example, the word "I" placed below "STAND" gives you "I understand" (I under STAND). It's wordplay meets visual thinking!

The Name

Wunzzles = Word + pUNZZLES. A playful mashup that captures the quirky, brain-teasing nature of these puzzles. They've been a beloved party game and classroom activity for decades, and we've brought them to the digital age.

Puzzle Types

• Under: One word positioned below another (e.g., I under STAND)
• Backward: Text written in reverse (e.g., ECNALG = backward glance)
• Split: A word broken into parts (e.g., TIM ING = split second timing)
• Vertical: Letters arranged top to bottom (e.g., T-O-U-C-H = touchdown)
• Big/Small: Text size IS the clue (e.g., huge "DEAL" = big deal)
• Repeat: Words repeated multiple times (e.g., MIND MIND = double minded)
• Stacked: Words layered on top of each other (e.g., HEAD over HEELS)
